Week 11

Hi Bloggers I am going to talk about this week me and my class did some really cool stuff. For reading my teacher read a book called Chicken Sunday. I had to go on my drive and then go to a personal response and write 3 stuff what I like about the story and I had to do other stuff to. My school was suppose to have cross country on Thursday but then it got postponed to next Thursday because of the weather. Instead of that on Thursday after lunch my class did the poetry competition. The poetry competition is you have to get a poem from somewhere then you have to learn it without looking at the poem. We did this for production so what part people is going to be on. I did okay I said my poem without looking at the sheet and I was not that scared to say poem. We even learned a lot about racism in school. We learn about racism because of what happened to George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter Movement. This week was a probably my best week in this month.

Toolkits

Toolkit

Hi my name is Yousuf. Yesterday I had a great day doing Toolkits. I got chosen to be in Toolkits and there were only 20 people that got chosen. I had to get my headphone from home that had a mic. Firstly we started with a Google meets in the hall with all the other schools. in Ako Hiko. Mr Margets our cybersmart teacher explained the rules to all the 8 schools. Then we went to our Chromebooks and went to our first session. My first session was called the truck food budget. When I went in the Google meet everyone had their mic on and was talking on the chat it was hard to hear the leaders that were presenting the food truck budget. The leaders had to leave because there were too much people that were being annoying. Then Mr Margret came and growled at the people that were interrupting the leaders. So the first session was bad. After we had morning tea, we came back and started with another teacher meeting. Every school got told that the rules were that you cant have your mic on and you cant talk on the chat place. My second session was Scratch and it was a lot easier to hear but there were a few people still being annoying. Scratch was a good game. For scratch you could make games and you could play other peoples game that they made. After we played a little and had lunch, we came back and my third session was Piskel. Piskel is like pixel art you can make characters and change your colour to. Their was  also challenges and if you did all the challenges then we get a badge. I did all of the challenges but I had to leave at two o clock. I hope you like my blog post about Toolkits .

Creative writing

Hello bloggers my name is Yousuf from Waikowhai Primary School. This week me and my class started doing creative writing. I had to go get a picture from Te Waka Ako that we were going to write about and then I had to choose my own type of writing and I choose narrative writing. Narrative writing is a made up story. My picture was a soccer field and it was dangerous. I picked a soccer field because I am really sporty and I like playing soccer. I did a few paragraphs and it had a really good ending with a good kick scoring a goal. I did my writing on a document in google drive. Have a look at my writing and leave some feedback! Week 8

Hi my name is Yousuf from Waikowhai Primary school. This week went fast for me since it was queen birthday on Monday so it was a day off. We did a lot of fitness this week because we needed to train for cross country and I am really sporty and fast. I have came 1st in cross country since I came to this school. We did art that was fun but hard for me. I really liked playing football in lunch and morning tea because my team always wins. I even like it when the two teachers play with us because it gets more funner. Here is my slide below about what I did.

Week 7

Hi my name is Yousuf from Waikowhai Primary School. This week we I did a lot of stuff. We did a lot of PE to train for cross country we run a lot of laps and even we had to go down backtrack and back up and that made me tired the most. I like doing art to especially doing the cards we had to rip little bit of collage paper then we had to glue it on the paper. My favorite thing this week was doing the lock down smackdown we had to get an app or a game from google that is not inappropriate then we had to write about that app then we had to share it to the hole Te Waka Ako.
